The Chronicle has been a purveyor of fine wines for many years.  We recently added a variety of wines to better serve the demands of our customers.  While we do not have the inventory of the bigger wine shops, many of the wines we carry are made in small quantities and sell out quickly.  Our focus has been the value wines that are great for every day drinking, as well as wines for those special occasions.

The staff is committed to providing not only the quality and professionalism of an established wine store, but also the personalized service and helpfulness of your local “cozy” neighborhood wine shop.  If you have not been to the Chronicle lately, you will be surprised on your next visit with a fully stock shelves with very interesting wines, and at a great price.

Winemaker’s Notes
With a pale yellow colour the noise reveals a bouquet of apple, peach and pear. On the palate, this Champagne is well balanced and interlaced with vinous aromas and fruits, supported by a good structure. A pleasing Champagne, round, fruity and finally honeyed. This Champagne is an excellent aperitif and perfect for any kind of festivity. Could be served with oysters, smoked salmon and soufflés.

2015 Chateau Saint-Aubin Medoc - $19.95
This wine treads a fine line between serious wood aging and ripe fruit. At this young stage, both characteristics are in play, giving a wine that is both full of black fruits and toasty, dry flavors. Give it time and drink from 2023.

NV Louis Roederer Brut 1.5L - $84.95
Winemaker Notes
Brut Premier is a pale golden color with delicate, persistent beading. Its rich yet subtle bouquet has hints of hawthorn, almonds and toast. It has a clean attack and creamy structure. The inclusion of reserve wines gives the complexity and roundness characteristic of Louis Roederer champagnes.

NV Veuve Du Vernay Rosé - $9.95
Nice rose color with a persistent mousse followed by numerous fine bubbles. On the nose, this wine sports forward red fruit scents combined with citrus fruit aromas. 2016 Stephane Aviron Cote de Brouilly - $14.95
Lurid ruby. Ripe raspberry, cherry liqueur and candied flowers on the perfumed, spice-accented nose. 2015 Orin Swift Papillon - $54.95
Winemaker Notes
An intense ink with a garnet rim, the wine opens with powerful aromatics of cassis, ripe boysenberry, and chaparral with hints of graphite, sage, fire -roasted meats and fresh brioche. With traces of tannin, the wine finishes with a lingering sweet licorice and a smooth acidity. Generations is a Bordeaux-style blend created to honor our family's past, present and future. The fruit is night-picked from our estate vineyards in Yountville and aged in new French oak barrels. Aromas of black cherry, coffee bean and blueberry segue to a full-bodied wine with a long finish of ripe berry and toasty crème brûlée.

2013 Neyen Espiritu de Apalta - $52.95
Winemaker Notes

 2013 Frescobaldi Nipozzano Reserva - $17.95
Winemaker Notes
Nipozzano 2013 is a brilliant, clear scarlet red. The nose is complex and intense with prevalent red fruit scents of bitter cherry, plum, and raspberry followed by spiced and toasted notes of pepper, nutmeg, and coffee. In the mouth, the wine is warm, soft and significantly fresh. Nipozzano 2013 is elegant and enveloping, with fine tannins hat are well balanced in the wine’s structure and a long and persistent fruity finish.  2013 Antinori Villa Chianti - $36.95
The Villa Antinori Chianti ClassicoRiserva opens with aromas of red fruit with notes of balsamic and spice. On the palate, flavors of berries and earth are supported by a firm structure and supple tannins. The flavors are balanced, with light acidity – typical of the Sangiovese grape.

2016 Antinori Il Bruciato - $24.95
The 2016 Bruciato offers an intenseruby red color. On the nose, the aromas of ripe red berry fruit, sweet spices, and alight and fresh minty note are the most prominent sensations. The palate is well structured, persistent, and very pleasurable in its fruity finishand aftertaste.

2015 La Bernardine Chateauneuf Du Pape - $41.95
Winemaker Notes
Intense crimson-red color. Complex and subtle nose with blackcurrant and plum aromas followed by roasted coffee and cinnamon, cherry, and morello cherry.

2015 Grand Regnard Chablis -  $19.95
The bottle is modeled after an old 17th-century bottle. The color is pale yellow with green highlights. On the nose, the wine is expressive of white flowers, lime-tree, and lemon and grapefruit zest. On the palette, it has a clean, fresh attack followed by a round and refined finish. This big thirst-quenching wine is a classic of French Chardonnay.

2010 Jaboulet Crozes-Hermitage Nouvelere -  $16.95
Gamy, earthy, slightly murky aromas with enough black plumy fruit showing through. More promising on the palate with plenty of dark berry fruit, black olive and gamy flavors. Fairly dense, round and tannic. Full-bodied with a moderately long finish. Wine Enthusiast – 88 Points

2016 Sauvion Vouvray - $11.95
Winemaker Notes
The nose features notes of honeysuckle and ripe citrus fruit. On the palate, the wine is off dry and medium bodied with food-friendly acidity. Flavors of honey and dried fruit lead to along finish.

2015 Vaza Crianza - $13.95
Winemaker Notes
The nose opens with intense aromas of ripe red fruit, but once the glass is swirled the complexity increases markedly and the flavours of barrel ageing start to appear – noticeably vanilla, cinnamon, coconut and caramel. Good palate structure, with  elegant, pleasant tannins. Positive flavours of oak, and in the finish those fruit flavours so typical of our Tempranillos. There is a good acidity which will allow the wine to develop well in bottle.

2015 Terre More Cabernet Maremma Toscana - $20.95
Terre More skillful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah, intense and elegant, is characterized by its modern style without losing the link with the territory it represents. 20% Cabernet Franc, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon20% Merlot, 10% Syrah

2017 The Palm Rosé - $12.95
The nose is full of wild strawberry and white peach. In the mouth, the wine displays good acidity, crisp flavors of red cherry, peach, & raspberry. Clean and bracing though it is, it embodies elegance and finesse, and pairs well with chicken or fish!

2016 Austerity Chardonnay - $12.95
Winemaker Notes
This creamy, layered Chardonnay features aromas of crème brulee, golden apples and toasted marshmallows. The palate reveals tropical fruit and pineapple flavors complemented by a velvety texture and rich, buttery finish.

2012 Domaine Galevan Chateaunuef-Du-Pape - $44.95
Coralie has created à Châteauneuf using beautiful materials and without heaviness, with a contemporary vision of the expression of the exceptional soil. The nose is an exotic mixture of candied fruit, scrubland, and spices. The mouth is ample and unctuous, balanced between freshness and aromatic persistence. A wine in all its finesse. Blend: 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre. Wine Advocate-91 Points

2015 Chateau Larroque - $15.95
While this Ducourt wine does have wood-aging flavors, it also has plenty of black-currant fruitiness to bring out the crisp character. The ripe Merlot of the vintage is very evident in this potentially delicious wine. Drink from 2018. Wine Enthusiast – 89 Points

2014 Chateau L’Orangerie de Carignan - $15.95
Medium bodied and light fruit on the pallet with raspberries and cherry coming   through. The nose is floral and delicate and the finish is smooth with light tannins. Chateau Carignan is best paired with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised and grilled dishes.
