The Chronicle has been a purveyor of fine wines for many years.  We recently added a variety of wines to better serve the demands of our customers.  While we do not have the inventory of the bigger wine shops, many of the wines we carry are made in small quantities and sell out quickly.  Our focus has been the value wines that are great for every day drinking, as well as wines for those special occasions.

The staff is committed to providing not only the quality and professionalism of an established wine store, but also the personalized service and helpfulness of your local “cozy” neighborhood wine shop.  If you have not been to the Chronicle lately, you will be surprised on your next visit with a fully stock shelves with very interesting wines, and at a great price.

2017 The Palm Rosé - $12.95

2016 Austerity Chardonnay - $12.95
Winemaker Notes
This creamy, layered Chardonnay features aromas of crème brulee, golden apples and toasted marshmallows. The palate reveals tropical fruit and pineapple flavors complemented by a velvety texture and rich, buttery finish.

2012 Domaine Galevan Chateaunuef-Du-Pape - $44.95
Coralie has created à Châteauneuf using beautiful materials and without heaviness, with a contemporary vision of the expression of the exceptional soil. The nose is an exotic mixture of candied fruit, scrubland, and spices. The mouth is ample and unctuous, balanced between freshness and aromatic persistence. A wine in all its finesse. Blend: 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre. Wine Advocate-91 Points

2015 Chateau Larroque - $15.95
While this Ducourt wine does have wood-aging flavors, it also has plenty of black-currant fruitiness to bring out the crisp character. The ripe Merlot of the vintage is very evident in this potentially delicious wine. Drink from 2018. Wine Enthusiast – 89 Points

2014 Chateau L’Orangerie de Carignan - $15.95
Medium bodied and light fruit on the pallet with raspberries and cherry coming   through. The nose is floral and delicate and the finish is smooth with light tannins. Chateau Carignan is best paired with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised and grilled dishes.

2015 Chateau Moulin de La Grangere - $24.95
Cherry, raspberry, blackberry, undergrowth evolving towards notes of vanilla and spices. Varietals: Merlot, Sauvignon. Food Pairings: With meat dishes in sauce, spicy dishes, roast poultry, risottos with mushrooms, Comté or uncooked cooked pressed cheese type Cantal, a dark chocolate dessert

2013 Wairau River Pinot Noir - $9.95

2015 Hecht Banner Languedoc - $12.95
With a beautiful carmine red color, this Languedoc reveals notes of red fruits and then, spicy and peppery shades. It’s a Mediterranean wine but still fresh and thirst-quenching. Mainly Syrah, Grenache and Carignan.

2016 Pascal Jolivet Sancerre Rosé - $19.95
Winemaker Notes
The 2016 Sancerre Rose is a pale salmon pink color with a subtle nose of fresh berries. On the palate, the wine is delicate and elegant with layers of herb, strawberry and a clean, crisp finish. Blend: 100% Pinot Noir

NV Vincent Cremant de Bourgogne Blanc - $19.95
Winemaker Notes
From the Chardonnay grapes this sparkler allies freshness, body, and smoothness. The Cremant Brut is dry and offers fine bubbles hints of flowers at the nose, crisp and fruity on the palate. It is a great Classic for all festive occasions. Wine & Spirits – 92 Points

2016 Dr. Fischer Riesling Mosel - $17.95
The Riesling by Dr. Fischer is a dry, fragrant and fruity wine from Mosel. It springs out delicious and delicate perfumes of exotic and citrus fruits and it reveal, on tasting, young freshness, juicy aromas of fruits and a pleasant easy drinking style.

2014 Alexana Chardonnay - $21.95
Winemaker’s Notes
Vibrant bouquet of lemon zest, toast and vanilla. Rich and rounded with notes of toasted brioche, pineapple and barrel spice. Wine Spectator - 90 points

2016 Amici Olema Pinot Noir - $18.95

2015 Leaping Horse Cabernet Sauvignon - $5.95

The 2015 Leaping Horse Cabernet Sauvignon is a luscious Cabernet with deep red-purple hues and flavors of black currant and cherry with hints of blueberry jam, eucalyptus and mint with lovely vanilla and coffee notes. It is smooth, rich and deliciously enjoyable.

2010 Anthonij Rubert Cabernet Sauvignon - $49.95
Winemaker's Notes
Blackcurrant, cassis and violets are noticeable on the bouquet which takes time to unfurl and show its true nuanced beauty. The palate is generous and offers up more cassis, fruitcake and blackcurrants, tinged with deep mocha notes and a hint of violets. Refined and elegant with a layered, structured complexity. Powerful too, with a brooding, dark mid-palate. Beautifully poised, balanced and focused with lovely precision in use of oak, ripeness of fruit and overall cohesion. A soft, silky and seductive wine which lingers long.

2014 “1749” Sauvignon Blanc - $8.95
Winemaker's Notes
Bright yellow with green reflections. Dry, zesty, lemony citrus aromas. Citrus fruit on the palate, well balanced, with a crisp and refreshing acidity. Serve chilled on its own or with appetizers, cooked or smoked meats and fish, with seafood or goat cheese.

2013 Tormaresca Primitivo - $6.95
Easy-drinking Puglia Zin from the Antinori family that shows the overall quality their wines typically demonstrate. Nice flavor intensity, low tannins -- this will work deliciously on its own with company, as a contemplative glass, or with heartier food.

2014 Hartford Court Far Coast Pinot Noir - $55.95
This comes from a mountain ridge north of Fort Ross at a 1,000-foot elevation. Dense ruby purple, with notes of sassafras, forest floor, red and black cherries, raspberry and underbrush, the wine exhibits medium to full body and terrific texture and length. This is another 10-year Pinot Noir, but should be drinkable during that entire window of opportunity.

2014 Hartford Court Land’s Edge Pinot Noir - $35.95
“Aged in 32% new French oak, the wine displays raspberry and blueberry fruit, damp earth, fresh porcini mushrooms and plenty of minerality. This is a juicy, tightly knit, but concentrated and promising Pinot Noir that has that forward fruit of this vintage well displayed.”

2015 Hartford Court Pinot Noir - $27.95

2015 Hartford Court Chardonnay - $20.95
Winemaker's Notes
2013 Hartford Court Russian River Valley Chardonnay offers subtle aromas of jasmine flower, citrus oil, ripe apple and pear. The elegant aromatics are complemented by fresh kiwi, lemon drop and Pippin apple flavors. The fruit focused mid-palate is followed by subtle mineral notes and a hint of crystallized ginger in the finish.

2016 Hartford Old Vine Zinfandel - $32.95
Winemaker Notes
Hartford's Old Vine Zinfandel reflects the character and heritage of dry-farmed and low-yielding vineyards in the Russian River Valley. This blend offers alluring aromas of boysenberry, raspberry and hints of white pepper. Blackberry, nutmeg and mocha flavors lead into an elegant and silky finish.

Valdobbiadene Prosecco - $10.95
Winemaker Notes
Nino Franco's non-vintage sparkling Rustico Prosecco is unquestionably the world's finest value in a high quality, Champagne look-alike. The non-vintage, light-bodied Prosecco di Valdobiaddene Rustic offers gorgeously elegant, fresh, lively fruit, notes of bread dough and citrus, and persistent effervescence.

2015 Altitude Ventoux Rouge - $13.95
Altitude 500 is a blend of 75% Grenache and 25% Syrah. It shines in brilliant ruby red and spreads a wonderful scent of fresh red fruit mixed with jam-like notes.  The solid structure keeps a long taste.

2014 Chateau St Jean Cabernet Sauvignon - $19.95
Winemaker Notes
Hand selected from vineyards throughout Sonoma County, creating true regional Cabernet Sauvignon. Vivid aromas of blackberry and boysenberry along with brown spice notes clove and nutmeg lead to a ripe fruit core. The rich and flavorful palate offers smooth tannins and a lingering finish.
